The tables have turned on an ex-prosecutor who handled drug cases against Paris Hilton and Bruno Mars in Las Vegas—instead of doling out criminal charges, he is facing four of his own. David Schubert, former Clark County deputy district attorney, didn't appear in court today, but his lawyer received the felony drug, conspiracy, and gun charges related to his March 19 arrest. The defense attorney says Schubert will plead not guilty to the charges that could send him to prison for decades if he's convicted.

The 47-year-old prosecutor was arrested in a BMW after police reported watching him buy $40 worth of rock cocaine in a neighborhood near the Las Vegas Strip. He also had an unregistered firearm in his vehicle at the time. Schubert was a top area drug prosecutor and resigned April 1. (More David Schubert stories.)
