Patrick Mills set a freshman school record with 37 points, five assists, two steals, and just one turnover to help Saint Mary's upset the 12th-ranked Ducks 99-87 last night. It was the Gaels' first win over a ranked opponent in nearly three years. As soon as the buzzer sounded students rushed the court to celebrate.

Diamon Simpson added 18 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks and Omar Samhan chipped in with 16 points. Oregon had won seven of eight against Saint Mary's, but this was the first meeting since 1993, when the visiting Ducks beat Ernie Kent's Gaels 76-70. (More Saint Mary's stories.)
