President Obama spoke in Elyria, Ohio, today and delivered a not-so-thinly-veiled jab at Mitt Romney, notes the Hill: "I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth." Obama didn't mention Romney by name, but the message was clear as he sought to identify himself with the working class and depict the GOP as out of touch: “Somebody gave me an education,” he said at the local community college. “I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Michelle wasn’t. But somebody gave us a chance, just like these folks up here are looking for a chance.”

As for Romney, he had a sound bite of his own on the trail in North Carolina. “Even if you like Barack Obama, we can’t afford Barack Obama,” he said, according to ABC News. “It’s time to get someone that will get this economy going and put the American people back to work with good jobs and rising income.” (More President Obama stories.)
