A Ukrainian man tried to make an early exit during a flight from Boston to Salt Lake City: Just as the plane touched down, he attempted to wrestle his way through the emergency-exit rear doors. He had them partway open before passengers knocked him down, ABC4 reports. Anatoliy Baranovich told authorities he believed the wing was on fire, the FBI says; the man is now in police custody, facing charges of damaging an aircraft and interfering with the crew.

"Right at touchdown I could hear screaming in the back," says a fellow passenger. "The look in (Baranovich's) eyes was very different—it wasn't drunk or stoned" but "very cold and very distant." Baranovich admitted he had been drinking while traveling but didn't specify how much, reports AP. He was apparently asleep and woke up during the descent screaming in Russian.
