The serial killer who hunted Daytona Beach’s prostitutes in the winter of 2005-2006 may be back, Newsweek reports. A body found recently matches the pattern of the earlier killings. “It’s eerily similar and has all the earmarks of the other cases,” said Daytona’s police chief. “I hope to God he’s not back, but I’m afraid that’s what we’re looking at.”

All four bodies were found naked in the woods, and police believe the latest victim, like the others, was at least a part-time prostitute. The two-year gap in the murders is perplexing, but that doesn’t rule out a link, said investigators. The killer might be “doing it on a spree when his life isn’t going so well,” one criminal profiler said. “Serial killers are like that.” (More serial killers stories.)
