Two Nashville robbers had the misfortune to try to steal a purse in a shopping center parking lot just as Franco Scaramuzza pulled in. That's because Scaramuzza is a fencing coach who had just left practice and still had his equipment with him, reports WSMV. What results is explained in this beauty of a quote: "I charged towards them, holding my épée up high, and, you know, yelling at them. I kept yelling throughout the entire thing. They completely panicked and dropped everything they stole and really took off." Police caught two suspects shortly thereafter and charged them with robbery. (More strange stuff stories.)
