The Rockets showed their mettle last night, earning a hard-nosed victory over Cleveland 92-77, the Houston Chronicle reports. Houston, propelled by Yao Ming's 22 points, battled off a Cavalier comeback attempt in the fourth, as Tracy McGrady battled a respiratory infection which sent him to the hospital earlier in the day, but couldn't keep him off the court.

"I was going to give it a shot," said McGrady, who posted eight points with seven rebounds. The loss comes as a rare recent occurrence for the Cavs, who were led by LeBron's 33. The Rockets too, are streaking, having won a season high five in a row. "We are learning, if you keep fighting, something good will happen," said Yao, following the victory. (More NBA stories.)
