A small private jet crashed today in a residential area in the Brazilian port city of Santos, killing a presidential candidate who was aboard the Cessna 560XL. Eduardo Campos, a Socialist who was running in third place, was confirmed dead in the crash by party members, reports the BBC. A police rep said that there were "fatalities but we still do not have a number confirmed." Fire officials said there were 10 victims, but they were unclear as to whether those involved injuries or fatalities. The plane went down in bad weather, notes the AP. Brazil's election is set for October. (More plane crash stories.)
