A church that can't seem to keep it down and a really horrific first date are among the weirdest crime stories of the week:

  • Pastor Jailed Over Noisy Church Services: "I can't believe it, jail time, for serving God." Such was the take of the wife of a Columbia, SC, pastor who is spending two weeks in jail because neighbors complained that his church services were too loud. Johnnie Clark's church was supposed to keep things hush-hush between the hours of 8pm and 8am, but that apparently didn't always happen.
  • First Date Ends With Man Dead, Woman in Hospital: There are infinite reasons to not go on a second date, but this tale of romance gone awry contains every single one of them: It seems that 53-year-old Leon Shaw of Washington state and his unnamed 47-year-old date went to a house party. Police are investigating what followed: a night of drinking, tattoos, punches, and squealing tires.

  • Woman Surprised to Find Dead Body in Her Trunk: A California woman says she has no idea how a dead body wound up in the trunk of her Lexus. The Riverside woman says she'd thought the car smelled funny as she left work last week, but she stopped at Walmart thinking nothing of it. When she opened the trunk to put her shopping bags inside, she made a gruesome discovery.
  • Saudi Fined for Driving Herself to Hospital: A Saudi woman who suffered a medical emergency when there was no man around is in trouble for driving herself to the hospital. Aliyah Al Farid was pulled over by the country's religious police when she was behind the wheel of her husband's car. She was ultimately allowed to drive to the hospital—but police took her somewhere else afterward.
  • It Takes 7 Police Agencies to Break Up Wedding Brawl: The way you don't expect a wedding reception to be described: "I'm telling you, there was blood everywhere. There was holes punched in the walls." But that's exactly what transpired at a Saturday reception outside Buffalo, NY, according to an unidentified worker at the Orchard Park Country Club. This one may not end up actually being an actual crime, as police say charges are unlikely. But what went down was pretty unlikely, too.
