A New Hampshire family was reunited with their dog Monday after the animal fell off a ferry en route to Martha's Vineyard without anyone noticing. Passengers on a 10:30am ferry from Falmouth noticed 12-year-old Chesney swimming about a mile offshore and alerted a nearby fishing boat. A fisherman used a net to retrieve Chesney, who was "flustered and a little scared," but otherwise in good shape, per the Cape Cod Times. It turns out she had gone missing on an earlier ferry after her owner let her out of the family car for a drink, reports the Martha's Vineyard Times. A harbormaster says the owner was "relieved" to get his dog back, but "his wife and three kids were not very happy with him." (More uplifting news stories.)
