Owner says customers appreciate the quiet

Looking for a respite from the constant presence of mobile devices in the world around you? Look no further than Wind City Books in Casper, Wyo.,, where a sign on the door proudly proclaims that the store has no WiFi, and asks customers to leave smartphones, tablets, laptops, and the like in their bags: "Take a break. Live like it's 1993. Emails can wait." Owner Vicki Burger says she's trying to get customers to, you know, read books, KTRK reports. She says customers like the rules and appreciate the peaceful store, free of the constant phone ringing and "email dinging" heard in other stores. (More bookstore stories.)
