A new king swung to the top of the box office this weekend with Kong: Skull Island dethroning Hugh Jackman's latest stand as Wolverine in Logan. Skull Island took in $61 million in its debut, reports the Los Angeles Times, though that falls well short of the reported $185 million it cost to make, not to mention the $93 million debut of Godzilla three years ago. "Kong is king," crowed a rep for distributor Warner Bros. "He just looks fantastic on screen." Logan brought in $37.9 million in its second week, reports the AP. Rounding out the top five were Get Out with $21.1 million, The Shack with $10.1 million, and The Lego Batman Movie with $7.8 million.
