Police in Massachusetts arrested a man after he allegedly entered a woman’s apartment and emptied a cat litter box, the Berkshire Eagle reports. Mitchell Sayers, 33, of Pittsfield, reportedly entered the unlocked apartment in North Adams, took off his shoes, and emptied the cat box (the Eagle says he was “cleaning” it, but provides no other details). The incident started with reports of a man chasing a 26-year-old woman on Mohawk Forest Drive, where the apartment is located. Police met the woman in front of the apartment. Believing Sayers was armed with a knife (ultimately, it was discovered he was unarmed), they entered the apartment with guns drawn. Police say Sayers was in the kitchen and came out with his hands up, and then complied with officers’ commands for him to get down on the ground. It is unclear whether Sayers and the woman, who says he had been making sexually suggestive comments, knew each other. (More weird crimes stories.)
