AutoNation slumped 3.9% after predicting a tough year for auto sales and announcing a restructuring. The S&P 500 index rose 24 points, or 1%, to 2,574. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 256 points, or 1.1%, to 23,787. The Nasdaq rose 73 points, or 1.1%, to 6,897. (Read more stock market stories.)
