(Newser) – The Guardian is out with a list of the 100 best movies of the 21st century so far, and movie buffs might be surprised to see what cracked the top 10—Team America: World Police, the 2004 satire from South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. "It’s just ferociously funny, even if most of the humour does, finally, come from the sight of the 2ft puppets tottering around, getting drunk, having wild sex, attempting to walk through doorways and wrestling panthers played by kittens," observe the newspaper's critics. The movie at the very top of the list is a safer pick. The top 10:

  1. There Will Be Blood (2007)
  2. 12 Years a Slave (2013)
  3. Boyhood (2014)
  4. Under the Skin (2013)
  5. In the Mood for Love (2000)
  6. Hidden (2005)
  7. Synecdoche, New York (2008)
  8. Moonlight (2016)
  9. Zama (2017)
  10. Team America: World Police (2004)
See the full list of 100, along with the reviews. (A brand-new film, Hustlers, seems to have won over the critics.)
