(Newser) – Megyn Kelly returned to her old network this week just long enough to tear into her other old network. In an interview on Tucker Carlson Tonight, Kelly called for an outside investigation of NBC concerning the sexual misconduct allegations against former colleague Matt Lauer. "They investigated themselves," Kelly said, per the Los Angeles Times. "That doesn’t work." Kelly jumped from Fox News to NBC in January 2017, then left NBC early this year after she suggested on air that blackface is not racist. This was the first interview of Kelly since she and NBC parted ways, and her first time on Fox since leaving the network. Fox made clear that the appearance didn't signal she'd work for Fox again, calling it a "one-time occurrence."

A new book by Ronan Farrow says NBC knew of Lauer's misconduct involving a colleague on the Today show, Brooke Nevils, per Salon. Lauer has denied Nevils' accusations. Kelly said the network should release the women who have come forward with accusations against Lauer from confidentiality agreements. "NBC says it has nothing to hide," Kelly said. "Great. Let’s not hide anything." The question, she said, is whether NBC was more worried about protecting a star anchor than it was about all the women who worked there. The network has disputed that contention, per the Daily News. (Kelly has said she was sexually harassed while working at Fox News.)
