Stocks are ending a wobbly day slightly lower as weakness in big technology companies pull the market just below the record high it set a day earlier, the AP reports. Google parent Alphabet gave up 2.2% Tuesday after reporting results that missed estimates. Apple fell 2.3%. General Motors climbed 4.3% after its earnings came in ahead of forecasts. The S&P 500 edged down 2 points, or 0.1%, to 3,036. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 19 points, or 0.1%, to 27,071. The Nasdaq fell 49 points, or 0.6%, to 8,276. Bond prices rose. The yield on the 10-year Treasury fell to 1.83%. (Read more stock market stories.)
