(Newser) – Bronx subways are known to be edgy, but this? A rider was caught on cellphone video picking up a young woman and carrying her off the train as she screamed to be set free, NBC News reports. Police say the incident occurred Sunday at Morrison Avenue-Soundview Station in New York City. In the video, posted on YouTube, a man believed to be 48-year-old Sonny Alloway taps the leg of a woman sleeping next to another man. She gives him a brief look and covers her face with her coat to catch more z's. But when the train stops, Alloway picks her up and carries her off. "No. ... Let me go!" she cries as he puts her on the platform bench. "What are you doing? Let me go!"

She wiggles free and runs safely on the train, while Alloway stays on the platform. But as one Twitter user puts it, "The Bronx is FAST!" Another posted video shows vigilantes attacking Alloway on the street, kicking him in the head and stomach as he tries covering himself on the ground, per the New York Daily News. "You like raping little girls?" a man cries. Alloway later took shelter in a deli, where police found and arrested him. "Force was used, but he's a big guy, like six feet," says a law enforcement source. "Things got heated, and there was a fight." Alloway, who had a few bruises, was charged with unlawful imprisonment. Sources say his rap sheet includes arrests for assault and drug possession. (Read more New York City Subway stories.)
