The man believed to have kidnapped his daughter after a custody visit in Boston yesterday could be trying to flee the country on his yacht, authorities said today. Clark Rockefeller might have been dropped off, along with 7-year-old Reigh, at New York’s Grand Central Station last night, aiming to get to his boat, moored somewhere on Long Island, the Boston Herald reports. Authorities have been questioning area marina-owners, and searched Long Island Sound from the air.

“We believe he drove to New York or was driven to New York with the girl and may be now in the process of trying to get to the Bahamas by boat," a police official told the New York Post. Rockefeller, 48, is not related to the famous family. He and Reigh’s mother, Sandra Boss, recently finalized a bitter divorce. (More kidnapping stories.)
