VP Pick, Obama Take to Stage Saturday
"Barring a big surprise or last-minute change of heart, the choice is likely to be Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware," MSNBC's Howard Fineman writes of Barack's Obama's running mate.   (AP Photo)

Barack Obama will take the stage with his vice presidential pick Saturday in Illinois, the Chicago Tribune reports. Authorities in Springfield—where the Democrat launched his campaign in Feb. 2006, have been told to expect the presumptive nominee as part of a tour with his newly minted running mate. And, Howard Fineman writes on MSNBC, Joe Biden looks like the guy.

"Barring a big surprise or last-minute change of heart, the choice is likely to be Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee," Fineman writes. Biden is relatively scandal-free, "lively and feisty, and has "working-class roots and a street-level feel for the hot spots of the globe," Fineman says.
