President Obama misses the “rhythm” of the days before he entered the White House, the New York Post reports. Looking back, he told NBC of the old days: “It’s Saturday morning. I’m gonna run some errands, I'm gonna do some things that'll make my wife happy,” he said. “I'm gonna take my kids to a museum and then I'm gonna—on the spur of the moment—take them to have some ice cream.”

The chat with Brian Williams is part of some 150 hours of footage that went into two hour-long NBC specials, called  A Day in the Life: Inside the Obama White House, on last night and tonight. The backstage footage also shows Obama with his dog (“he has a great temperament”) and catching a basketball in the Oval Office (“you weren’t supposed to film that.”)
