Prison life appears to be agreeing with Bernie Madoff. A lawyer who represents victims met with Madoff today and said he appears fit. "He looked pretty good and seems to be working out," said attorney Joseph Cotchett. "He looked a lot better than he has in some months since I've seen photographs of him." In the four-hour-plus interview, Madoff expressed surprise he got away with his Ponzi scheme so long, reports ABC News.

"There were several times that I met with the SEC and thought, 'They got me,'" Madoff told Cotchett, who scored the interview by threatening to sue Madoff's wife. "He cares about Ruth, but he doesn't give a ---- about his two sons, Mark and Andrew," said Cotchett. The attorney said he's unsure whether he will name Ruth or the sons in his lawsuit, but he expects to name Madoff's brother Peter as a conspirator. (More Bernard Madoff stories.)
