Obama: Tea Party Amuses Me
"I've been a little amused over the last couple of days where people have been having these rallies about taxes," Obama said. "You would think they'd be saying thank you."   (AP Photo/Haraz N. Ghanbari)

The only effect yesterday's tax day protests appear to have had on the president is to make him chuckle. President Obama told a Democratic fundraiser in Miami that the Tea Party anti-tax rallies "amused' him in light of his administration's numerous tax cuts, ABC News reports. "You would think they should be saying thank you," he told the party faithful.

Obama told the crowd that he planned to bring down the deficit and said the Republicans appear to have forgotten that they turned the surplus Bill Clinton left behind into a massive deficit. “Suddenly we’re in, and they’ve got the green visors out, they’re sharpening their pencils, they’re deficit hawks again,” he said. “I walked in with a $1.3 trillion deficit.”
