A 15-month-old baby managed to escape with only minor cuts and bruises after his stroller tumbled onto the tracks and into the path of an oncoming train in Melbourne, Australia. The driver, who jammed on his brakes immediately and pulled the baby out from under the train, was praised for his quick thinking. City officials say the split-second reaction saved the child's life.
"It's got me buggered how he survived," the train driver told the Melbourne Herald Sun. "I just jumped in and started doing it on instinct because of my granddaughter. "The baby's grandmother had apparently failed to heed safety warnings issued after an identical incident happened in the same city just 7 months ago.
