Cops: Bound Dead Man at LAX Killed Himself

A man found dead in a bathroom stall at Los Angeles International Airport with a bag over his head and his hands tied behind his back appears to have killed himself, police say. The man, who had a history of mental illness, seems to have placed a plastic bag over his head and then secured his hands with plastic ties so that he couldn't back out of his suicide attempt, an LAPD detective tells AP.

The 35-year-old transient appears to have been living out of a suitcase, which included a will and documents indicating that he had failed to find work. A cleaner found the body inside a stall in the secure area of the airport's Terminal 3. There was no blood nor any sign of a struggle. Investigators have turned the case over to the coroner's office to establish an official cause of death.
