A smiling Elizabeth Smart pronounced herself "thrilled" with today's guilty verdict of kidnapper Brian David Mitchell. But she's happy for another reason as well: "I am so thrilled to stand before the people of America today and give hope to other victims who have not spoken out about what’s happened to them," said the 23-year-old. "I hope that not only is this an example that justice can be served in America, but that it is possible to move on after something terrible has happened." With the trial over, she'll be returning to her Mormon mission in Paris. More details at the Salt Lake City Tribune. (More Elizabeth Smart stories.)
