Elizabeth Edwards' funeral took place today at the same Raleigh church where her 16-year-old son Wade was remembered in 1996. "There aren't words that are good enough," said daughter Cate, 28, in her eulogy. "She could bring out the brave in anyone." A small group of protesters from the notorious Westboro Baptist Church of Kansas protested down the street, reports the Raleigh News & Observer. Three adults and two kids held signs insulting Elizabeth as the funeral got under way.

Cate recalled that her mother held the hands of her and estranged husband John on her deathbed. Elizabeth looked at both and kept repeating, "I'm OK, I'm OK." Said Cate: "She was way more worried about us than we were about her." John did not speak at the funeral, notes AP. The couple had two other children, Jack, 10, and Emma Claire, 12.
