The bodies of two children have been found stuffed in luggage in a South Florida canal and police divers are searching the area in case there are more. A girl aged between 6 and 12 was found in a duffel bag in the canal near Boca Raton, and a boy aged between 10 and 12 was found about half a mile away. Police are trying to identify the children, both of whom are black, but they have no clues as to their identities, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports

"We're devastated, and someone is missing these children," a police spokeswoman said. "Somebody's missing these kids, whether it's a teacher, a grandfather, a grandmother, an aunt, and we need them to call." Police say that the canal's easy access means anyone could've dumped the bodies. "It's the saddest and sickest thing," said a neighbor. "You have to wonder what these kids might have endured before today." (More Florida stories.)
