(Newser) – The latest weapon of choice against al-Qaeda: the Mojito Cupcake. No, seriously. British intelligence hacked into an online English-language magazine designed to recruit lone-wolfs to the terror organization, after which any prospects who downloaded the 67-page copy of "Inspire" saw only computer code where the oh-so-helpful article "Make a bomb in the Kitchen of your Mom" by "The AQ Chef" should have appeared. The Telegraph reports that MI6 replaced the article with code pulled from the Ellen DeGeneres show's website: a page of America's best cupcakes recipes.

The code reportedly included recipes for the Mojito Cupcake and the Rocky Road Cupcake, along with the proclamation that "the little cupcake is big again." Funny enough, it looks like one ingredient remained the same: The page's original pipe bomb recipe called for sugar, match heads, and a mini-lightbulb. The Telegraph notes that both the US and Britain planned attacks after learning "Inspire" would be launched last June, but the CIA blocked the US effort over fears it would jeopardize sources. Al-Qaeda reportedly reissued the magazine two weeks later. (Read more al-Qaeda stories.)
