Congress' Ever-Dismal Approval Rating: 13%

And, in a record high, 84% disapprove

(Newser) – Just when you thought Americans couldn't hate Congress any more than they already did ... the approval rating drops to 13% in the latest Gallup poll. That's a tie for the record low; the other time approval dropped to 13% was during the lame duck session in December 2010, Politico notes. Independents in particular have a sour taste in their mouth: Only 9% approve of Congress. Meanwhile, 84% of Americans disapprove of Congress, which is a record high. The same poll also found President Obama saddled with a record low approval rating. (Read more Congress stories.)
