Ohio State missed 17 consecutive shots in the second half of last night's game, and No. 1 North Carolina capitalized, surging ahead to a 66-55 victory. The Tar Heels, playing without their point guard Ty Lawson, got help from Wayne Ellington's 23 points and Deon Thompson's 14, reports the Columbus Dispatch. In other college arenas last night:

  • Darren Collison blazed back onto the court with the help of a knee brace, Alfred Aboya stayed in the UCLA lineup thanks to protective goggles, and with Kevin Love they brought the Bruins to an 83-60 victory over George Washington.
  • Donald Sloan helped the Aggies stay perfect with a 76-63 win over Alabama.
