Hot off his ugly incident on an American Airlines flight this week, Alec Baldwin appeared on Saturday Night Live and apologized to ... himself, the New York Daily News reports. The funnyman donned a pilot's uniform and was introduced as Captain Steve Rogers: "It was awful Seth," he tells Seth Myers on Weekend Update. "Which is why it was important for me to come here and on behalf of everyone at American Airlines, issue an apology to Mr. Alec Baldwin! Mr. Baldwin is an American treasure!”

Asked whether he slammed the plane's bathroom door before being kicked off the flight, Baldwin—er, Rogers—admits that playing "Words With Friends" on a cell phone is just that frustrating. “Don’t phones interfere with the plane’s communication system?” asks Myers. There, Rogers sounds more like Baldwin: "Would you really get on an airplane that flies 30,000 feet in the air if you thought a Kindle switch would bring it down?" American Airlines, however, seems less than amused with his behavior. (More Alec Baldwin stories.)
