Hillary's hubby sparked a squabble by slamming Barack Obama on Charlie Rose last night, calling the surging Dem "a gifted television commentator" and mere "symbol for change." Not only is Hillary more prepared for the Oval Office, Bill said, "it's not close." Obama reacted today by slamming "slash and burn" politics and reminding voters that he has been "in government for over a decade."

Bill did praise Obama's "sensational political skills" and admitted he is "tickled" when watching him, Editor & Publisher reports. "I have nothing bad to say about him or anyone else," Bill claimed. But he called a vote for Obama is "a risk" and criticized him for running after just one year as senator. He also said it is "a miracle" that Hillary "even has a chance" in Iowa, and assured Charlie he was not "low-balling it." (More Bill Clinton stories.)
