George Clooney has released a video documenting an illegal and dangerous trip to see Sudanese government attacks on civilians first-hand, reports AP. In the video, the actor witnesses what is believed to be a Chinese-made missile being fired at civilians in the Nuba Mountains region of southern Sudan, which could soon face a hunger crisis. Clooney testified before Congress about the situation earlier this week, and spoke with President Obama yesterday.

The Chinese-supplied rockets "are long-range, ground-launched unguided rockets, and they're being used in Kauda, which is a civilian area," an Amnesty International arms experts says. "They're being used indiscriminately, and that's a violation of international humanitarian law." After meeting with the president, Clooney told reporters that he felt there was "a commitment at a high level" to deal with the situation in Sudan, adding that China's interest in Sudanese oil gives it a reason to help bring about peace in the region.
