Backup goalie Steve Valiquette helped the New York Rangers continue their dominance in Philadelphia yesterday, reports the Associated Press. In other NHL action:

  • Evgeni Malkin recorded his fourth straight multiple-point game with two goals and an assist to lead the Sidney Crosby-less Pittsburgh Penguins past the Los Angeles Kings 4-2.
  • Nik Antropov scored off a deflection 62 seconds into overtime to lift the lowly Toronto Maple Leafs past the mighty Detroit Red Wings, 3-2.
