(Newser) – As New York celebrated at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade today, protesters over events in Ferguson, Mo., gathered at the scene—but it seems they didn't make much headway, nor did they make it into NBC's telecast, Mashable reports. Meanwhile, the parade was a success despite drizzly, 37-degree weather, the AP reports. The event featured six enormous new balloons, including Paddington Bear, Thomas the Tank Engine, and a Power Ranger. (Read more Ferguson, Missouri stories.)
