It is one of the strangest X-ray scans you'll ever see: When Spanish authorities scanned a woman's suitcase at the border with Morocco, it revealed the unmistakable image of a small human body. When they opened the case, out popped a scared and confused 8-year-old boy from the Ivory Coast named Abou, reports AFP. Authorities say the boy's father, who lives in Spain's Canary Islands, paid to have the boy smuggled into the country—though he swears he didn't know a suitcase would be his son's mode of travel, reports the Huffington Post. He is now under arrest on human trafficking charges, as is the 19-year-old woman who was carrying the case. Abou is temporarily in the custody of child protective services.
