A man's genitals were apparently so impressive that even his death didn't stop nurses from taking a peek. A rep at Denver Health Medical Center says five nurses were suspended for three weeks after a police report revealed they repeatedly viewed a patient's genitals over several days "while he was incapacitated, including after he was deceased." The reason? Frankly speaking, they were apparently in awe. The nurses actually opened a body bag simply to admire the size of the man's penis, hospital spokesperson Josh Rasmussen tells the Denver Channel. The glimpses were said to have occurred between March 31 and April 3 but were only reported in May.
That's when another nurse overheard a conversation about the man's genitals and reported it to hospital staff. Though police responded, "they determined there was insufficient evidence to prove a crime was committed … and referred the matter back to Denver Health to handle internally," says a rep for the Denver District Attorney's Office. The nurses returned to work following the three-week suspension—though one has since left the hospital for unrelated reasons, per KDVR—and will have a record of the incident put in their employee files, says Rasmussen, who describes the punishment as "serious."
