An off-duty Arkansas police officer was killed inside his home Saturday afternoon by a bullet fired from outside, reports ABC News. Oliver Johnson Jr. was fatally shot in West Memphis and was a member of the police department in neighboring Forrest City. Police don't think he was the intended target but was instead struck by a stray bullet as he sat inside. A relative tells WREG that someone drove by and unloaded some 40 shots. "It was an encounter between the suspects and another group outside of the apartment," says a police official. The investigation is continuing. (Read more shooting stories.)
