Tiger Woods, Girlfriend Sued After Bartender's Death

Tiger Woods is being sued by the parents of an alcoholic bartender who died after crashing his car on his way home from a shift at the golfer's bar. The wrongful death lawsuit filed by the parents of 24-year-old Nicolas Immesberger says his blood-alcohol limit was more than three times the legal limit when he crashed his Corvette after leaving The Woods bar and restaurant in Jupiter, Fla., on Dec. 10, NBC reports. The lawsuit alleges that workers plied Immesberger with drinks after he finished his shift, despite knowing that he had been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and had been involved in another alcohol-related crash the previous month, reports CNN.

The crash happened around 6pm, three hours after Immesberger's shift finished. The parents are suing bar owner Woods, his girlfriend, Erica Herman, and the restaurant company. Employees, the suit says, "not only ignored Immesberger's disease, they fueled it by over-serving him alcohol to the point of severe intoxication and then sending him out to his car." The suit, which is seeking unspecified damages, says Immesberger was "specifically recruited" by Herman, the restaurant's general manager. It alleges Herman and Woods had "direct knowledge" of the bartender's drinking problem and had been drinking with him just a few nights before the crash. (More Tiger Woods stories.)
