(Newser) – Jeff Adams made headlines when, at Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday, he managed to nab a home run ball while also holding a can of beer in each hand. He was walking back to his seat at Washington DC's Nationals Park after procuring the beer when Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros sent the ball right at him. As Adams recalls to the Washington Post, his Little League coach "taught me how to put my chest in front of a ball and let it bounce in front of me" back in his catcher days. "So put my chest in front of it, right? And I angled down. Sure enough, hit me right in the chest. Went straight down. And I got it," Adams says. The ball was at his feet, he hadn't spilled his beer, and the whole thing had aired on television and gone viral on social media. And thanks to that, he'll be heading back to the World Series, the New York Post reports.

Bud Light tweeted the clip Sunday, adding, "This man is a hero. Twitter please figure out who this guy is so we can reward him." The next day, an update: "We are in contact with our hero. He’s wearing this beauty to Game 6." Included in the tweet was a picture of a T-shirt with an artist's rendering of a double-fisting Adams as the ball hits his chest, with the text: "Always save the beers." Game 6 is scheduled for 8pm Tuesday in Houston; the Astros are currently up 3-2 in the series. Adams is probably hoping to catch a Nationals ball this time; he told Fox 5 DC of his Astros ball, "It hit me in the chest, but you know what, it was from the other team, so I didn't feel anything. We're gonna hit more home runs, right? Go Nats." (Game 5 also saw some flashers getting banned and the president getting booed.)
