After Ron Jeremy was charged in June with sexually assaulting four women, dozens of women contacted investigators with accusations of their own. The result is 20 more charges against the porn star, involving crimes against another 13 women, Rolling Stone reports. The charges cover allegations between 2004 and Jan. 1 of this year; Los Angeles County prosecutors said the victims ranged in age from 15 to 54. Six assaults took place at a bar in West Hollywood, they said, and one in the bar's parking lot. Jeremy has pleaded not guilty on the first group of charges.
Investigators said Jeremy, 67, was a regular on the Sunset Strip, victimizing drunk women, per the Los Angeles Times. In 2017, Rolling Stone interviewed women who said had capitalized on his fame to get close to potential victims, some of them in the adult film business, and then assaulted them. Around the same time, a video listing allegations against him collected more than 200,000 views on YouTube. His lawyer had no immediate comment Monday. Conviction on all 28 counts could bring a maximum sentence of more than 250 years. Jeremy remains in custody in Los Angeles, per NBC. (Read more Ron Jeremy stories.)
