Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene's marriage of 27 years is coming to an end, reports the Daily Beast. Husband Perry Greene filed for divorce Wednesday in Fulton County Superior Court, calling their marriage "irretrievably broken," per the Hill. He also said the couple, who wed in college, are already separated. The filing asks the court to keep the divorce records sealed "because the parties’ significant privacy interest in sealing the records outweighs the public’s miniscule interest in access to said records.” Both the Georgia Republican and Perry Greene issued statements praising each other.

  • MTG: “Marriage is a wonderful thing and I’m a firm believer in it. Our society is formed by a husband and wife creating a family to nurture and protect," said the 48-year-old congresswoman. “Together, Perry and I formed our family and raised three great kids. He gave me the best job title you can ever earn: Mom. I’ll always be grateful for how great of a dad he is to our children." She called the matter "private and personal."
  • Perry Greene: “Our family is our most important thing we have done," he said. "As we go on different paths we will continue to focus on our 3 incredible kids and their future endeavors and our friendship." He called Marjorie Taylor Greene his "best friend."
