Black Friday bargain hunters trampled an employee to death this morning at a Long Island Wal-Mart, the New York Daily News reports. Another woman had a miscarriage in the stampede. The unidentified employee had been trying to hold the unruly crowd back, but the crowd knocked him down and ran over him, eyewitnesses say. Police are investigating.

“He was bum-rushed by 200 people,” said a co-worker. “They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me.”  A few feet away, a shopper saw a woman knocked to the ground, and heard her tell paramedics she was pregnant. “There’s nothing we can do,” they said. “The baby is gone.” Police soon shut down the store.
