Vitter Denies Airport Meltdown

Sen. David Vitter says reports he threw a tantrum at Washington's Dulles Airport are way off base, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. The Republican acknowledges that he blundered through the wrong door in a rush to catch a flight back to Louisiana, but denies  reports that he berated an airport worker who stopped him.

”I did have a conversation with an airline employee, but it was certainly not like this silly gossip column made it out to be,“ said Vitter, who—according to Roll Call—set off a security alarm when he tried to board his flight even though the gate was closed. The Transportation Security Administration plans to review the incident.  (More David Vitter stories.)
