The former lover of John F. Kennedy exposed in 2003 has a deal with Random House to write a memoir, the New York Times reports. Mimi Beardsley worked as a White House intern and had an 18-month affair with the president from 1962 to 1963, starting when she was 19. Beardsley, who now carries the surname Alford, admitted in 2003 that she was “involved in a sexual relationship” with JFK.

The book, which does not yet have a release date, will be called Once Upon a Secret. Alford’s agent said it wouldn’t be a salacious tell-all. “She’s just not that type of person, where she’s going to spill her guts about intimate stuff for the whole country to see,” he said. “The really powerful part is what happens afterwards. What’s the impact on your family life, your marriage, knowing that this happened to you in your early life and you have chosen to keep it a secret.” (More John F. Kennedy stories.)
