Mag's Gutsy Photo Hits With Readers
Glamour editor Cindi Leive addresses reader response in a blog post.   (Glamour.com)

In showing that it has the stomach to use plus-sized models in its pages, Glamour has provoked a torrent of positive reader reaction, blogger Margaret notes on Jezebel. A photo of a woman with a bit of a gut hanging over her underwear accompanied a story in the September issue, and editor Cindi Leive’s inbox has been jammed since, she writes:

“The emails were filled with such joy,” Leive writes, “joy at seeing a woman’s body with all the curves and quirks and rolls found in nature.” Adds size 12-14 model Lizzi Miller: “When I read them I got teary-eyed! I’ve been that girl, flipping through magazines trying to find just one person who looked a little bit like me. And when I didn’t find it I would start to think there’s something wrong with the way that I looked. When J. Lo and Beyoncé came out and were making curves sexy, I started to accept myself more.”
