Lately, Van Jones has had a lot of apologizing to do. Obama’s green jobs czar issued a statement yesterday renouncing a statement he signed on 911Truth.org, which demanded an “immediate inquiry into evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur.” Van Jones said the statement “does not reflect my views now or ever.”

The 2004 document bears 100 signatures, including big names like Janeane Garofalo and Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney. A site spokesman says every signature was confirmed by phone or e-mail. It was Van Jones’ second apology in as many days; on Wednesday, he apologized for a video in which he called Republicans “assholes,” noting that he’d made the comment before he joined the administration.
