This could get loud, or at least long-winded: Al Sharpton is threatening to sue Rush Limbaugh over his op-ed in the Wall Street Journal today. In the essay, Limbaugh lashes out at critics who foiled his NFL bid, and he accuses Sharpton of playing a "leading role in the 1991 Crown Heights riot." Sharpton says he wasn't in Crown Heights until after the violence broke out. He also disputes Limbaugh's notion that he egged on a 1995 riot.

Limbaugh "has the right to criticize Rev. Sharpton, but he does not have the right to accuse him of criminal activity," said a Sharpton statement, as noted by the Daily News. "Unless Mr. Limbaugh apologizes and clarifies his statements, attorneys for Rev. Sharpton will move forward with a lawsuit." (More Al Sharpton stories.)
