The Secret Service found itself on an odd chase yesterday, running down a man who’d stripped naked to jog near the White House. Around rush hour, the man threw off his clothes, leaving them lying in a bag, and set off running, heedless of the 25-degree windchill. “He wasn’t yelling or protesting,” a Secret Service spokesman told the Washington Post. “Just going for a jog.”

“He was apprehended, naked though he was,” the spokesman added. But the saga wasn’t over. Because the man had left his clothes in an unattended bag, they’d been classified as a suspicious package. The Secret Service had to cordon off the area for investigation until they ultimately determined that the clothes were indeed just clothes. They’re still holding the streaker in custody, but he hasn’t been charged. (More streaker stories.)
